“I’m sick of all this stuff. I’m 19, Putin has been in power my entire life, and I don’t see any hope for the country,” said Anastasia, a student at a Moscow uni. “There’s poverty & state terrorism. And what they did to Navalny is outrageous and illegal.”
The attempted assassination & confinement of Navalny have aroused deeper feelings. These protests seem to have legs. If Putin cracks down, which is his proclivity, he may rouse a movement so widespread that even his ruthlessly efficient security forces will find hard to control.
Let me be very clear: Nobody should be taking a vacation abroad right now. If you’ve got one planned, cancel it - and don’t book a trip for spring break. We need to hang on and hold tight for the next few months, and get through to the spring in the best shape possible.
Happy prof. news, I'm back to cover the WH for @voanews.
My reassignment on Jan. 11 after I pushed to question Mike Pompeo on the Capitol riots has been canceled, following the change of leadership in @USAGMgov, incl. VOA Dir. Robert Reilly & Dep. Dir. Elizabeth Robbins.
The Gorge Waterway looking absolutely GORGEous at sunset. We love a crescent moon, It's a Thing Imagery. Have you taken a walk along the water here before?

As we watch our inauguration take place, I want to thank our wonderful neighbors to the north.
You have always held the torch of freedom with us. But for the last four years you held it alone while we floundered.
We’re back, folks, to help carry it with you.
Thank you, Canada!
Dear America - So many Canadians supported and stood by you during the last 4 years of madness and today we're happy to say "you made it"! The crazy is over. Now begins healing and re-building and erasing the remnants of the hateful stain that may be left behind. CONGRATULATIONS!
