‘Project Non League’ has united clubs against the proposal to null & void the 2020-21 season.
@jersey_bulls director Ian Horswell joins @RobbieSavage8 & @chris_sutton73 to discuss the finer details of the plan - and what it could mean for clubs up & down the pyramid 👇
A growing number of clubs have joined a campaign against making the season null & void.
Clubs are proposing that some teams are promoted using PPG from the last 2 seasons' results in order to fill gaps in the restructured pyramid.
Their proposal would see no clubs relegated.
Replying to @IanWright0: This seems fair given how many games have already been played over the past two seasons Non league deserve a solution that…
DID YOU KNOW:
Despite Women's step 3-7 being null & void, the FA did permit a "movement" of clubs based on their "on-field playing record". In total 17 clubs were promoted.
It is common practice for the FA to move clubs in order to restructure, even after an incomplete season.
DID YOU KNOW:
When last season's Step 3-6 (and Step 3 & below for Women's game) were declared null & void, it was stated PPG couldn't be used as there was no precedent for using PPG on an incomplete season.
Weeks later, all 3 National League's, League One & League Two used PPG.
This is the best solution to non-league situation I’ve seen by far! Reward the best clubs and punish none!
Really hope @laurencecj @jamesdearl, Trident Leagues, Alliance committee etc let common sense prevail and present this as an option to clubs!
Save non league!
#FreeSchoolMeals On the left £30 of food. On the right what private company Chartwells have supplied having been awarded a government contract to supply for £30 free school meals.
Utterly shameful profiteering off some of the country's most disadvantaged kids!
The fact that someone in the government approved this contract shows just how out of touch they are, and/or how little they care.
This is literally taking food out of the mouths of some of our most vulnerable in exchange for maximised private-contract profit!
4-0 down, will be hard for Marine to come back from this.
I guess they can concentrate on the league now...oh wait.
This may be Marine’s last game of season as non-league may be null & voided for 2nd year in a row!
They sent us out to play during a pandemic for NOTHING.
Good luck to @MarineAFC vs @SpursOfficial later in the @EmiratesFACup!
But remember, if @laurencecj & @jamesdearl have their way again, Marine’s league season & the 100s of clubs from Step 3-7 of the men’s pyramid (& Women’s) will count for NOTHING for the 2nd season in a row!
What does the future hold for non-league football?
The 2020/21 season at steps three & four could be declared null and void.
@hashtagutd's @SpencerOwen joins @chris_sutton73 & @RobbieSavage8 to give an insight into exactly what's going on - and its potential impact 👇
This is very important and very well explained by @SpencerOwen. Give non-league football and the thousands of people involved in it something to aspire to, to look forward to. Don't reward mediocrity. Don't null and void again
So important that ANYONE who cares about football listens to this. The lower leagues of the English game are being forgotten & tossed aside in this pandemic.
We have to hold decision makers accountable. Sporting integrity at risk. @FA @laurencecj @DCMS
